President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE) initiative on 19th March 2018 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, in New Delhi.
President Ram Nath Kovind presented Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Appreciation Awards-2018, on the inaugural occasion of the ‘FINE’ event at Rashtrapati Bhavan, in New Delhi.
Ram Nath Kovind accorded 23 innovators with the GYTI Appreciation Awards-2018 from the field of innovations in microscopy to biotechnology, including one on the solar cooker. Later Dr. Harsh Vardhan gave away the rest of the awards to 27 innovators.
The GYTI Awards-2018 were awarded with an aim to recognize, respect, showcase & reward innovations potential of India and to create a sustainable & supportive ecosystem for innovators.
The GYTI Awards-2018 were given to student innovation in engineering, science, technology and design for affordable and frugal solutions.
A Total of '54' GYTI awards were given out of 2,915 received entries in each 54 technology domains from 312 Universities & Institutes belonging to ‘34 States’ and ‘Union Territories’ of India.
