India's Statue of Unity, the world's tallest statue, is visible from the space as revealed by the Commercial satellite network 'Planet'.
The Statue of Unity is situated at Kevadia in Gujarat's Narmada district. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honor India’s first Deputy Prime Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 143rd birth anniversary.
The Statue of Unity is 182 meters in height, this bronze sculpture is about twice the height of the United States 'Statue of Liberty' (93 meters) and also the height of 'Spring Temple Buddha' in China (153 meters).
The Statue of Unity was constructed with around 75000 cubic meters of concrete, 5700 metric tonnes of steel structure, 18500 steel rods and 22500 metric tonnes of bronze.
The Statue of Unity structure was proposed in 2013, it was completed at a total of Rs 1345 crore, a part of Rs 2979 crore total amount allocated for the project.
