The United State of America has a rich tradition of charity and giving. Last year America gave USD 500 billion in donations to charities.
Almost 70 percent of the donation was given by individuals and only five percent came from the corporate sector. One-third of the donations went for religious purposes, 20 percent went to education and 10 percent to social services.
