China will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2018 at the coastal city of Qingdao, China's eastern Shandong Province in June 2018.
China had undertaken over rotating chair of SCO after 17th SCO summit concluded in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan in June 2017.
China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, at an event in Beijing, informed that China is looking forward for the smooth conduction of the SCO summit 2018, which is believed to enhance consent for regional cooperation between China and the neighboring nations.
The SCO is a Eurasian economic, political and regional security organisation headquartered in Beijing, China. It was founded in the year 2001.
The SCO organization full member comprises of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, India and Pakistan whereas Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia currently, holds the observer status.
The SCO organization is aimed at the military cooperation between all its members. It also works towards intelligence-sharing, counter-terrorism separatism and extremism operations in Central Asia.
