International Translation Day (ITD) is celebrated on 30th September every year to promote the translation profession in different countries.

International Translation Day also identifies transposition of literary or scientific work from one language into another language as indispensable to preserve clarity, climate, and productiveness in international public communication.

International Translation Day was the first time observed on 30th September 2017 by the UN with an aim to pay tribute to the work of languages professional.

International Translation Day date (30th September) was chosen to celebrate the feast of Bible translator St Jerome, who is considered as a patron saint of translators.
