Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial situated at 26 Alipur Road in New Delhi on 13th April 2018.
PM Narendra Modi took a metro ride to reach his destination where he won hearts of many daily passengers by allowing them to take his selfie photos and commute them too.
Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial is dedicated to the nation on the occasion of Dr. B R Ambedkar birth anniversary which was observed on 14th April 2018.
Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial was constructed as a tribute to the life and contributions of Dr.BR Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution of India. Earlier, Narendra Modi had laid the Memorial foundation stone on March 21, 2016.
Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial has an exhibition area, meditation hall with the Buddha Statue and 12 feet high bronze statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar.
Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial is equipped with a sewerage treatment plant, a rainwater harvesting System and rooftop solar energy. It also has a Bodhi Tree, a musical fountain and a facade lighting system.
Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial is designed as a replica of the Constitution in the shape of a book. It has been constructed at a cost of approx Rs 100 crore and is spread over nearly 2 acres of land.
