UP Govt Announced To Set One Police Station In Every District To Check Power Theft- Details, Purpose, Benefits

The Uttar Pradesh state government has announced to set up one police station in each district to check power theft and lessen power loss in the state.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath on 6th June 2018 in Lucknow. 

As per the source, these new police stations will function under Power distribution companies.

The Uttar Pradesh state government has taken various steps to bring down the distribution loss as Centre has clarified that only 15 % power loss will be compensated.

There are 33 enforcement units are working in the state against the Power theft. UP Government has sanctioned 55 more enforcement units for the purpose. 

Other UP Cabinet Decisions

The UP state cabinet has also declared Nagar Palika Vrindavan and Nagar Panchayats Barsana, Gokul, Govardhan, Nandgaon, Radhakund and Baldev as no liquor areas.

The UP state cabinet has also given its clearance to the Solid Waste Management policy, Animal Breeding Policy 2018 and Milk Policy 2018.
