CWG-2018: Indian Mixed Double’s Badminton Team Won Maiden Gold Medal For India

Commonwealth Games-2018 also known as Gold Coast 2018 was inaugurated on 4th April 2018 at Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, It has to be held from 4th April to 15 April 2018

The Indian mixed doubles badminton team has bagged first-ever ‘Gold Medal’ for India, on the 5th day of the 21st Commonwealth Games competition held on 9th April 2018.

The Indian mixed doubles badminton achieved their maiden feat in CWG-2018, with a brilliant 3-1 win over defending champion Malaysia.

The Indian badminton player’s pair of Satwik Rankireddy and Ashwini Ponnappa claimed the mixed doubles victory against Malaysian Peng Soon Chan and Liu Yong Goh.

The England mixed doubles badminton team clinched the third position by beating Singapore team by 3-0.
