Amit Panghal is an Indian amateur boxer of lightweight category (49 Kg), he hails from Haryana, India.
Amit Panghal recently won a 'Gold Medal' at 2018 Asian Games and a 'Bronze Medal' at the 2017 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships in the light flyweight category.
Amit Panghal was born on 16 October 1995 (aged 22 years) in Mayna village of Rohtak district, Haryana. His father Chaudhary Bijender Singh Panghal is a farmer.
Amit Panghal brother, Ajay Panghal, who works in the Indian Army, inspired him to take up boxing in 2007 at Sir Chhoturam Academy.
Amit Panghal won the gold medal in his debut game at the national championships in 2017. He won the 'Bronze medal' in the light flyweight category of the Asian Amateur Boxing Championships-2017 in Tashkent in May 2017.
Ami Panghal won the 'Gold Medal' at the Strandzha Cup in Sofia. He also won the 'Silver Medal' at 2018 Commonwealth Games in the light flyweight category held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Amit Panghal in September 2018, won a 'Gold Medal' in 2018 Asian Games defeating Uzbekistani boxer Hasanboy Dusmatov.
Recently, Amit Panghal on 11th September 2018 was nominated for Arjuna awards-2018 by the Boxing Federation of India.
