NITI Aayog in association with UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) on the occasion of Children's Day (14th November 2018) has launched UNICEF- Atal Tinkering LabHackthon to encourage children towards making new innovations.
The Atal Tinkering LabHackthon is a 72-hour problem-solving quest. The winners of hackthon will be announced on the 20th November 2018 on the occasion of Universal Children's Day.
The Atal Tinkering LabHackthon is meant for children to come up with innovative solutions for challenges faced by them in schools, especially on quality of education and safety.
The Atal Tinkering Labs and Atal Innovation Mission are a bridge between innovation and schools across India, providing solutions to grassroots problems.
The marathon was aimed at encouraging students to observe community problems and develop innovative solutions.
As per United Nations representative, Yuri Afanasiev, India’s ecosystem of innovation is inspiring and it is interesting to see how young people are producing low-cost, high-impact solutions.
