India-Singapore-Thailand Trilateral Naval Exercise SITMEX 19 Details, Features, Aim

India-Singapore-Thailand (SITMEX-19), a trilateral naval exercise has been started with its sea phase in the Andaman Sea.

SITMEX-19 trilateral naval exercise was organized between Indian Navy, Royal Thai Navy (RTN) and Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

SITMEX-19 trilateral naval exercise was 5 days of maritime exercise scheduled held from 15th September to 20th September 2019.

SITMEX-19 trilateral naval exercise was aimed to strengthen relations between all the three countries. This maritime exercise will enhance the capability and cooperation between India, Singapore, and Thailand.

SITMEX-19 trilateral naval exercise participants include Indian Navy’s Ships Ranvir, a Missile Corvette, Sumedha, a Guided Missile Destroyer, Kora,  and an offshore Patrol Vessel are participating in the exercise. The Singapore Navy's Guided Missile Stealth Frigate ASN Tenesmus, Thailand's Guided Missile Frigate HTMS Kraburi has been launched along with Indian Navy ships.

SITMEX-19 trilateral naval exercise has not only promoted cooperation between the three navies, but also the spirit of cooperation for stronger maritime security will increase. This exercise will increase mutual trust and understanding between the three navies and will help in better understanding each other's maritime operations.
