The Indian and Japanese navies began intensive air anti-submarine warfare exercise in the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean.

The Indian Navy Spokesperson Captain DK Sharma in a tweet, the exercise in the Arabian Sea will conclude on 31 October 2017.

Indian Navy's two P-8 I Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance Anti-Submarine Warfare aircraft and two P-3C Orion jets of the Japanese Navy will participate in the exercise.

The two P-3C Orion, anti-submarine warfare aircraft, launched at naval air station Hansa in Goa on 29 October 2017.

The short duration exercise is taking place between concerns in India and Japan over China’s growing presence in the Indo-Pacific region.
