Ministry of Power Launched 'PRAAPTI App' To Facilitate Transparency In Power Sector- Details, Features, Purpose, Benefits

Union Ministry of Power has launched a mobile application named as 'PRAAPTI", that aims at bringing transparency in power sector of India.

The PRAAPTI App was launched by Minister of State (I/C) RK Singh on 29th May 2018 at an event in New Delhi. 

The mobile application PRAAPTI, Payment Ratification and Analysis in Power procurement for bringing Transparency in involving of Generators and it will contain all details related to payments.

The PRAAPTI App will now allow citizens to monitor the payments that are being made to power generation companies. It will enable people to know the tariffs at which the power was procured by the DISCOMs or (Power distribution companies run by central and state governments).

The PRAAPTI App will also enable the consumers to know the performance of their DISCOMs in terms of payments that are being made to the generation companies. Later, the performance of the DISCOMs will be ratified on the basis of payments that were made. 

Through, PRAAPTI App consumers will also be able to see the details related to delays, if any, and check the number of reminders that were sent by the generation company and its impact on generation companies.
