Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Report on Road Accidents suggests 17 death every hour in the Country

Recently, a report related to road accidents was released by the Ministry of Road Transport on 09 October 2018. This report has given information about road accidents in the country.

According to this report of the Ministry of Road Transport, one lakh 47 thousand 913 people were killed and 4 lakh 70 thousand 975 people injured in road accidents last year.

Last year, the number of people killed in road accidents and the number of deaths in the country has decreased for the second consecutive year, which is 3.3 and 1.9 % less than the previous year.

According to this data, there were 1273 road accidents every day in the gym, 405 people died every day According to this, 17 people have been killed in road accidents every hour in the country.

According to the report, 65,552 road accidents were reported in 15 states in Tamil Nadu but the highest number of 20 thousand 174 people died in Uttar Pradesh.

The number of people killed in Tamil Nadu was 16 thousand 157 and they remained second. There were 38,878 road accidents in Uttar Pradesh during this period.

In the top 15 states, Maharashtra is at number three with 12 thousand 264 deaths while Karnataka is at fourth place with 10,609 deaths.
