Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Inaugurate Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 Event- Details, Features, Highlights Purpose
Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh in a press conference informed that PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate & address the farmers at the Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 on 17th March 2018 in New Delhi.
The Krishi Unnati Mela is a 3-day annual held fair, being organised between 16 March to 18th March 2018 at the Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI) Mela Ground, Pusa, New Delhi.
Radha Mohan Singh further informed that the PM Narendra Modi will also the Jaivik Kheti Portal and will lay the foundation stone of 25 new Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs),
PM Narendra Modi will also confer Krishi Karman Award and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Krishi Vigyan Protsahan Awards.
The Krishi Unnati Mela is organised every year with a different & specific theme on a priority area of agricultural research and technology transfer. It helps research organisation to receive valuable feedback from the farmers on their agriculture needs.
The Krishi Unnati Mela main aim is to create awareness to farmers about the latest agriculture-related technological developments.
The Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 is expected to show the participation of several agriculture scientists and lakhs of farmers.
The Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 will showcase the latest agriculture and allied sector technologies at more than 800 stalls; Seminars and Conferences; Live Demonstrations on Micro- Irrigation, Waste water utilisation, Animal Husbandry (Pashudhan) and Fisheries etc.
The Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 main theme pavilion will be based on Doubling of farmers’ income by 2022.
The Krishi Vigyan Mela (Agriculture Science Fair) was established in 1972 and continues to be a most important annual event of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
