Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has organized a Financial Literacy Week from 4th June 2018 to 8th June 2018 across the country.
The Reserve Bank of India has slected “Customer Protection” as the “Theme” for the Financial Literacy Week.
The Financial Literacy Week event concluded on 8th June has focused on creating awareness among customers of banks about financial products and services, good financial practices and going digital.
The Financial Literacy Week saw the participation of bankers, financial literacy counselors (FLCs) and other stakeholders to create awareness regarding financial products and services
RBI has also signed an agreement with 10 banks to provide financial education. Target groups of this initiative are farmers, industrialists, school students, senior citizens and self- help groups
During the Financial Literacy Week, banks were also encouraged to create awareness about Banking Ombudsman scheme of the RBI.
