The Union Government has announced to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi during the period from 2 October 2019 to 2 October 2020.
It has been decided to celebrate the event at both national and International level to propagate the message of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Union Government constituted a National Committee head by Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi for this purpose.
This committee includes the Chief Minister of all the state of the country, the representative from across the political spectrum, Gandhians, thinkers and eminent persons from all walks of life.
The committee will guide and approve policies or programmes or activities for the commemoration and will also supervise the implementation of the decisions taken from time to time.
