The Modi government of the centre has given great publicity to the farmers in the festive season. The central cabinet announced to increase the minimum support price (MSP) of Rabi crops.
According to the government's latest decision, the MSP of wheat has been increased by Rs 105 per quintal. At the same time, the MSP of gram has increased by Rs 220 per quintal, Masar Rs 225 per quintal and mustard MSP per quintal by Rs 200 per quintal. The increase in MSP crops by up to 21% in MSP has been taken one day after the peak of the Kisan movement.
The decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The decision to increase support price in the current crop year has been taken on the suggestions of the Agricultural Costs and Prices Commission (CACP).
It is in line with the government's promise to give 50 per cent profit to the farmers at the cost. Giving this information in the press conference, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the decision to increase the MSP shows our resolve to increase the income of farmers.
By increasing the MSP of Rabi crops, the farmers will get the benefit of Rs 62,635 crore.
