Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers holds first meeting of ICFNR in New Delhi
Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers chaired the first meeting of Governing Council for Indian Council for fertilizer and Nutrient research (ICFNR) in New Delhi today.
IFNCR aims at promoting research in area of fertilizer manufacturing technology, use of raw material and innovation in fertilizer products, eco-friendly micro nutrients and pesticide coated slow release fertilizers etc.
Minister Ananth Kumar stated that since there are large number of private/public companies but there is no national research institution which is exclusively devoted to fertilizer and nutrient research.
India is the second largest consumer of fertilizers in the World after China
It is the prime importance to have research environment in India to achieve food security for common man.
IFCNR is located at National Fertilizers Limited in Noida.
