M.S. Swaminathan was the chief architect of India’s Green Revolution. ( When there is an increase in crop production in developing countries as in India, Which is achieved by the use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides, and high-yield crop. )
As by seeing his efforts towards his project M.S. Swaminathan was awarded as world Agriculture prize for 2018.
In India, it is the first time when M.S. Swaminathan receives this prize and decision was taken by the Global jury of the 1st world Agriculture prize.
One more achievement Prof. M.S. Swaminathan has achieved was that he became 20th most Influential Asian of the 20th Century after Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindra Nath Tagore.
World Agriculture prize aims to motivate the global development of the mission of higher education institution in education, the research, and innovation in agriculture.
