Defence Minister of India, Nirmala Seetharaman's political career
Nirmala Seetharaman is an Indian politician who is acting as the current Defence Minister of India.
Before electing as The Defence Minister, Seetharaman served under Ministry of Finance and minister for commerce and industry with independent charge.
She was the member of National Commission for women.
In 2014 she was allotted a seat of Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh, currently, she is elected to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka.
Nirmala Seetharaman's entrance into BJP
Seetharaman joined Narendra Modi Ministry in 2014, untill then she was a part of six spokesperson that was lead by Ravi Shankar Prasad.
On May 2014, Seetharaman was archaic in as Minister of state(independent charges) for Ministery of commerce and industry as well as Minister of state for Finance and Corporate affairs lead by Arun Jaitley.She also won a seat of Rajya Sabha from the state of Andhara Pradesh.
She played an effective role for the formation of Modi government as a spokesperson in the year 2014.
