Prithvi Shaw Record Achievement on Test Debut against West Indies at Rajkot for the youngest debutante century-maker in test cricket

Prithvi Shaw became the youngest Indian to score a century on Test debut on 4 October 2018, playing against West Indies in Rajkot (Gujarat). Prithvi Shaw has scored his first Test hundred in 99 balls.

Prithvi Shaw (18 years and 329 days) broke the record of 59-year-old Abbas Ali Beg, who made this record at the age of 20 years and 126 days.

Prithvi Shaw debuted his first Test innings in a very aggressive manner. He just gave his intention to hit a half-century in 56 balls. He scored 15 boundaries in his century.

He is the 104th in the world and the 15th cricketer of the century in the first Test. The first Indian batsman to score a hundred in his first Test was Lala Amarnath, who scored 118 runs against England in 1933.

In November 2013, Rohit Sharma scored a century in his very first Test against the same West Indies in the Eden Gardens of Kolkata.
