Indian politician and Advocate Arun Jaitely is one of the most dedicated leaders & always emerged as a strategic planner of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
Arun Jaitely at present is serving as the Finance Minister & Minister of Corporate Affairs in the Government of India, under the regime of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Arun Jaitely is also elected as Member of Parliament (MP) of Rajya Sabha for Uttar Pradesh and will assume office on 3rd April 2018 onwards.
Arun Jaitely currently is also acting as the Board of Governors of Asian Development Bank.
Arun Jaitley started his political career in 1974 when he won the election to become the president of Delhi University Students’ Union. Later In 1977, he got appointed as the president of the Delhi ABVP and All India Secretary of the ABVPin Delhi University.
Arun Jaitley was highly influenced by the activities of Janata Party and joined the movement against corruption then led by the Janata Party to create awareness among people about the poor governance and corruption by high officials. He was also appointed as the Convener of the Coordination Committee of the youth and student organisation.
Earlier, Arun Jaitley was a senior advocate in the Supreme Court and a former Additional Solicitor General of India. He served as the General Secretary of the BJP in 2002 and then again in 2004.
Arun Jaitley also served as Defence of Minister (March 2017-September 2017) & (May 2014-November 2014); Minister of Information and Broadcasting (November 2014 -July 2016); Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha (June 2009-May 2014);Minister of Law and Justice (July 2003-May 2004); Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha (2014);Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting (October 1999 -September 2000); MP of Rajya Sabha for Gujarat (2014); He also served as Vice President of BCCI but later resigned.
