Indian Railways: IRCTC Revamped Its Website ( With New Additional Features

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on 29th May 2018, has launched its renovated website with new additional features.

Indian Railway passengers now can easily know the probability of confirmation of their wait-listed or RAC tickets on the basis of booking trends. The foretell regarding the confirmation of tickets will be based on a new algorithm developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).

Some Key Features

The new IRCTC e-ticketing system allows users to search for trains and check on availability of seats without the need of logging-in to the IRCTC account.

The renovated IRCTC website provides a user-friendly layout for modification of journey details and a complete fare break-up. Passengers can now perform multiple activities like cancellation, printing, request for an SMS, selection of an alternative train through the ‘Vikalp’ option. One can even change the boarding point, if required, through ‘Vikalp’.


While booking tickets, the site provides separate cards for each passenger to fill in their details. Pre-filled details will help ensure a quick booking experience.

Passengers can manage the payment options easily by marking six banks as preferred banks under the 'My Profile' section, thus, saving on their time.
