First Himalayan Film Festival from 24 to 28 September 2021, Highlights, Details
The Himalayan Film Festival (THFF) is being organized for the first time this year. The Himalayan Film Festival-2021 will take place in 24 to 28 September in Leh, Ladakh. This Film Festival is being organized by the Union Territory of Ladakh in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India's Directorate of Film Festivals.
The following are key highlights of Himalayan Film Festival(THFF) :
- THFF 2021 is being held in Ladakh as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India's independence.
- The first event of the festival will include filmmakers and actors from the newly released film "Shershah," including director Vishnuvardhan and major star Siddharth Malhotra.
- The five-day festival will also serve as an interaction and exposure platform for budding local filmmakers, as well as promote Ladakh as a desired film location.
- The festival will be held in Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra in Leh, where digital projection is possible, in collaboration with the Film Festivals Directorate of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
- The film festival, which will include talent from all 12 Himalayan states and UTs, will be actively supported by local filmmakers.
- Popular films from Assam, Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh, as well as Indian Panorama selections, will be shown during the festival.
