Padma Bhushan Anna Rajam Malhotra personal & professional life

Anna Rajam Malhotra was born in July 1927 in Ernakulam district of Kerala.
Her early education took place in Kozhikode, after which She went to Chennai for higher education at Madras University.
Her initial name is Anna George.
She was married to RN Malhotra, who was the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 1985 till the year 1990.
She worked under seven Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu.

She is also known for his contribution to the establishment of the modern Port Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), near Mumbai. She also served as President of JNPT.


She worked closely with Rajiv Gandhi in the Asian Games held in Delhi in 1982. Then Rajiv Gandhi was a season and the charge of sports was given to him.

Anna Rajam Malhotra had also gone with the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on eight national tours. She also worked in the personal section of the Home Ministry.
Anna Rajam served the country while remaining important posts of several departments.


During the appointment in the central server, She had served in the Union Home Ministry.
When She retired, She later worked as the Director of Hotel Leela Venture Ltd.

Anna Rajam Malhotra was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 1989 for his outstanding work in the field of administrative service.
