India's largest automobile company by revenues, Tata Motors has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with State Government of Maharastra on 1st June 2018 in Mumbai.
The MoU was signed with an aim for deployment of 1000 Electric Vehicles (EV) across its range of passenger and commercial vehicles in the entire state of Maharashtra.
Under the MoU, it also partnered Tata group company, Tata Power Ltd to set up of EV Charging Stations in the state.
Tata Motors CEO & MD, Guenter Butschek signed the MoU in the presence of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis.
CM Devendra Fadnavisalso flagged off 5 Tigor EVs provided by Tata Motors to EESL as part of the tender at the Gateway of India, Mumbai.
The MoU is significant in boosting the ‘Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy-2018’ in accelerating the adoption of EVs in Maharashtra.
