Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the105th session of Indian Science Congress (ISC) conference on 16th March 2018 at Manipur Central University in Imphal, Manipur.
The Indian Science Congress-2018 conference is a Five-day event which is to be held from16th March to 20th March 2018.
The ISC-2018 conference theme is ‘Reaching the Unreached Through Science & Technology’. It will see the amalgamation of Social Sciences and Science together.
The ISC-2018 conference was organised by the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) which is a premier scientific organisation of India.
The Indian Science Congress has been organised for the second time in any north east state. In 2009 it was held in Shillong, Meghalaya.
The ISC-2018 conference earlier was scheduled to be held in the month of January in Hyderabad, Telangana but was delayed to be held in Manipur’s Imphal.
The ISC-2018 conference is estimated to witness about 5,000 delegates from across the country along with 2,000 scientists. It will also to be participated by four Nobel Laureates.
The ISC-2018 conference aims to bridge social gaps through science and innovations. It also focuses to leverage science disciplines which impact society and sustainable development
The Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) started in the year 1914 at its headquarters in Kolkata. It organizes Indian Science Congress (ISC) annually in the first week of January.
The first conference of the ISCA was held in January 1914 in the Asiatic Society, Kolkata.
