The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given its ex post facto approval to Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Iran on establishment of an expert group on trade remedy measures.
India & Iran has signed the MoU on 17th February 2018 during visit of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani to India.
The MoU aims to promote cooperation in areas of mutual interest. It will promote cooperation between two countries in area of trade remedies.
The MoUwill include exchange of information, capacity building activities, cooperation in investigations related to anti-dumping and countervailing duty etc.
India and Iran have friendly relations. Both the countries are making efforts to deepen their relations in many areas
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also paid an official visit to Iran in May 2016. His visit focused on bilateral connectivity and infrastructure, an energy partnership, and trade.
