The CAIT urged health minister JP Nadda and Union Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Harsh Vardhan to take immediate cognizance on the matter.

The CAIT also cited the findings of various studies, claiming that bacteria were found in notes, which spread diseases and could endanger the stomach, TB and other diseases such as the ulcer.

The CAIT general secretary Pravin Khandelwal informed that every year such reports are published in science magazines, but sadly no attention is given to health risks. He said that in the country, the trader uses most of the currency notes because he has direct contact with the final consumer and if the research report is true then it is fatal to the health of traders. Not only this, it will also affect consumers.
