33rd India-Indonesia Navies Coordinated Patrol Exercise 'IND-INDO CORPAT' Begins: Details, Aim, Significance, Highlights

India and Indonesia Navies on 19 March 2019, started their 33rd India-Indonesia Navies Coordinated Patrol Exercise 'IND-INDO CORPAT' from Andaman and Nicobar islands during which they will carry out joint patrolling of their waters.

India and Indonesia Navies coordinated patrol exercise 'IND-INDO CORPAT' is scheduled to be held from 19th March 2019 to 4th April 2019. The patrolling would be conducted in three phases 

India and Indonesia Navies coordinated patrol exercise aims to underscore India’s peaceful presence and solidarity with friendly maritime neighbors, in order to ensure good order in the maritime domain, consolidate interoperability and strengthen the existing bonds of friendship between India and Indonesia. 

Under the coordinated patrol programme, the ships and aircraft from both the countries would undertake to patrol on the respective sides of the 236 nautical-miles-long International Maritime Boundary line. 

The 33rd Ind-Indo Corpat, also coinciding with 70 years of India-Indonesia diplomatic ties, will contribute towards the Indian Navy’s efforts to consolidate inter-operability and forge strong bonds of friendship across the seas.
