The Chairman of the General Sports Authority of Saudi Arabia Turki Al-Asheikh has announced on 29 October 2017, the women will be able to attend into three sports stadiums starting from 2018. This is first-time that Saudi Arabia is allowing three sports stadiums for the women.
The General Sports authority will start the repair works at three stadiums in Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah to accommodate families starting in 2018.
As the last month authorities allowed hundreds of women to throng a sports stadium in Riyadh which is used mostly to football matches, for the first-time to mark Saudi Arabia’s national day.
This move is aimed at empowering and engaging women in the society as an integral part of the development process.
