Indian National Congress is an Indian political party founded in 1885.

The founding members of Indian National Congress proposed economic reforms and wanted a larger role in the making of British policy for India.

The great strength of the organization was shown in the provincial elections of 1937.

After partition, the Indian National Congress as the largest party governed India under Jawahar Lal Nehru's leadership. 

First President of Indian National Congress was Womesh Chandra Banerjee in 1885.

Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi was the President of Indian National Congress in 1924.

Subash Chandra Bose was the President of Indian National Congress in 1938 & 1939.

Jawahar Lal Nehru former Prime Minister of India was the President of Indian National Congress in 1936,1951,1952,1954.

Indira Gandhi former Prime Minister of India Was the President of Indian National Congress in 1959,1978-1983,1983-1984.

Rajiv Gandhi former Prime Minister of India Was the President of Indian National Congress from 1985 to 1991.

P.V.Narsimha Rao former Prime Minister of India Was the President of Indian National Congress from 1992 to 1996.

Sonia Gandhi Was the President of the Indian National Congress from 1998 to 2017.

Currently, Rahul Gandhi is the President of the Indian National Congress since 2017.
