Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred King Hamad Order of the Renaissance by Bahrain. It was awarded by Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa in Manama, capital of Bahrain.
PM Narendra Modi has conferred this prestigious honor in recognition of his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
With this, PM Narendra Modi became the first Indian to receive this honor from Bahrain and also the 1st Indian prime minister to visit Bahrain.

Till now, for PM Narendra Modi received his 7th international award since he assumed office in 2014:
1. Amir Amanullah Khan Award, highest civilian award of Afghanistan
2. Order of King Abdulaziz Sash, highest civilian honor of Saudi Arabia
3. Grand Collar of the State of Palestine, highest honor of Palestine, given to foreign dignitaries
4. Seoul Peace Prize by the Seoul Peace Prize Foundation of South Korea.
5. Champions of the Earth award, the United Nations’s highest environmental honor, awarded by UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme)
6. Order of Zayed, highest civil honor of UAE.
