7th International Tourism Mart-2018 Concludes in Agartala, Tripura

 

 

7th International Tourism Mart-2018 held in Agartala, Tripura: Details, Theme, Highlights

The 7th edition of the ‘International Tourism Mart’ was held from 22nd to 24th November 2018 in Agartala, Tripura. It was organised by Union Ministry of Tourism in association with Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura and North Eastern States.

International Tourism Mart-2018, the theme for this year was “Adventure Tourism”.

International Tourism Mart-2018 witnessed wide participation of international buyers and media delegates from countries around the world and from different regions of the country. About 41 foreign delegates from 18 countries and 23 tour operators and travel agents along with 18 media representatives, journalists, travel writers, and bloggers participated this year.

All the participants had engaged in business-to-business (B2B) meetings with sellers from the north-eastern region which enabled tourism product suppliers from region to reach out to international and domestic buyers.

International Tourism Mart-2018 also included presentations by state governments of the region on their tourism potential, panel discussion, cultural evenings, sightseeing visits to local attractions in and around Agartala.

About International Tourism Mart 

International Tourism Mart is an annual event organized in the north-eastern region with the objective of highlighting the tourism potential of the region in domestic and international markets. It is endowed with diverse tourist attractions and products.

International Tourism Mart provides a platform to tourism business fraternity and entrepreneurs from eight North Eastern States. It organized annually in the North Eastern States on a rotation basis.

The earlier editions of this International Tourism Mart were held in Guwahati, Tawang, Shillong, Gangtok, and Imphal. North East Region of India comprising states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.
