K J Alphons attends Programme and Budget Committee Meeting of UNWTO
Ministry of Tourism: Shri K.J Alphons, tourism minister Budget Committee of UNWTO
Shri K.J Alphonse who is present tourism minister chaired the Programme and Budget Committee of UNWTO.
United Nation World Tourism Organization held in Minama, Bahrain.
The minister highlighted the role of tourism in socio-economic development through job creation, enterprise, and environmental development.
As K.J Alphons address this committee first time. India will address the committee until 2021.
UNWTO had a surplus budget and most of the arrears due have been paid.
The world tourism organization is the united nation agency responsible for sustainable and universally tourism.
The council consists of 35 full members elected by the assembly in the proportion of one member of every Five full members.
The executive council will discuss several topics on the agenda that are related to the development of Global Tourism Sector.
Secretary-General of UNWTO is Zurab Pololikashvilit.
Tourism Minister also met the Secretary-General and spoke about involving UNWTO in developing tourism as a strong agent for the better future of the world and for establishing the global public-private partnership.
