Air Force Day: Indian Air Force Celebrates its 86th Anniversary on 8th October 2018: Details, Celebrations, Highlights

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is celebrating 'Air Force Day' 86th Anniversary on 08 Oct 2018. Indian Air Force was officially established on 8 October 1932 by the British Empire.

Air Force Day celebrations and Parade was attended by the Chiefs of all the three defence services namely Indian Air Force, Army, and Navy. 

On Air Force Day, IAF has conducted a Grand Parade and Investiture Ceremony at Air Force Station Hindan (Ghaziabad). 

Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, Chief of the Air Staff and several dignitaries & veterans participated in the celebrations. 

The Air Warrior Drill Team also showcased their weapon handling skills and carry out diverse manoeuvers with their rifles. Also, a scintillating air display by a wide range of IAF aircraft including our cherished Vintage flight was demonstrated.

The Air display commenced with a flag bearing sky-divers of famous Akash Ganga Team, who jumped from an An-32 aircraft.

Besides, The Flypast was comprised of Mi-17 V5 and Rudra helicopters, Dornier, C-130J and C-17 transport aircraft, Jaguar, Bison, MiG-29, Mirage-2000 and SU-30 MKI fighter aircraft.  Dakota, Tiger Moth, and Harvard of the IAF Vintage flight.

Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) also carried out an aerobatic display in front of the audience.
